AICTE Covers BBA/BCA
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is India's national regulatory body for technical and management education. It was set up in November 1945 as an advisory body, and was given statutory authority under the AICTE Act, 1987 — meaning it has legal power to set standards, grant approvals, and ensure quality across technical institutions. It functions under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
From academic session 2024-25, AICTE approval also became mandatory for institutions offering B.B.A and B.C.A programmes — alongside existing UGC/university oversight — to bring these courses onto the same national quality-standard footing as MBA and MCA. This directly applies to our B.B.A and B.C.A programmes. B.Com remains solely under UGC and Saurashtra University and is not an AICTE-approved programme, so B.Com students are not eligible for the AICTE scholarships below.
Each scheme provides direct financial support of up to ₹50,000 per year, paid straight to the student's Aadhaar-linked bank account via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
All AICTE scholarships are applied for centrally — not through the college.
Create your account on the National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in) with your Aadhaar number.
Select the AICTE scheme (Pragati/Saksham/Swanath), enter academic and family income details.
The college verifies your admission and course details on the portal.
After State Nodal Officer approval, funds are transferred directly to your bank account.
You may also come across fellowship.aicte.gov.in while researching AICTE support — this is a separate portal for PhD research scholars, not undergraduate students. It hosts AICTE's Doctoral Fellowship (ADF) and National Doctoral Fellowship (NDF) schemes, for first-year, full-time PhD candidates at AICTE-approved institutions in fields including engineering, management, design, and computer applications.
