The trust was established in 1965 and has since aimed at comprehensive development. Through organization, successful management, hard work, and cooperation, the trust has become a shining example of worship with pure devotion to Bhagwati Sharadadevi through various activities in Gujarat Saurashtra, making people aware and conscious.
After the establishment of Gujarat state, there was a strong urge in Saurashtra to acquire higher education, and as a result, the educational trust of the progressive thinkers emerged as a prominent force in the process of organizing educational events. As a result, Mahatma Gandhi Charitable Trust has become a significant institution in the field of education, completing 50 years of its glorious existence in the year 2014-15. Founded and managed by the Gandhian ideology, Shrimati J.J. Kundaliya Commerce College holds a prestigious position in the society due to its unwavering commitment to the pure principles of education. It upholds the principles of integrity and refuses to engage in any form of discrimination or corruption. No one is given preference based on caste or greed. Any form of donation for admission to the college is strictly prohibited, and the trust operates on the principle of self-sustenance. The college has a strong belief in the power of education and strives to provide quality education to all, regardless of their socio-economic background.
In June 1973, Shri Jayantibhai Kundaliya, Chairman of the Trust, and Shri Labhubhai Trivedi, President of the Lovana Parishad, established Shrimati Jashvantiben Jayantilal Kundaliya Commerce College in Rajkot city, keeping in mind the requirements of higher education. This college is affiliated with Saurashtra University, recognized by the State Government and Central Government (UGC). It caters to the urban and rural students and provides higher education at a very nominal cost. The Trustees accepted the cooperation in the establishment of this college with open hearts. This college, located in the heart of Rajkot city, has been a focal point of education and culture for the last 50 years. Every year, more than 2000 students graduate from this college and pursue post-graduation.
This trust, which is known for its tradition of higher education and introducing new names, started the Computer Science Department in the year 2000 AD. This included starting the subjects of BCA, DCS, and B.Com with Computer Science. In the following year of 2002, we started the PGDCA program. For this, a well-equipped library and three AC labs with 125 computers were also established.
In the age of computers, management is equally important. Students also become skilled in this field, and keeping that in mind, in the year 2006, the study program of BBA was started.
